Carene has been in Medicine for over 25 years. Starting out with managing Plastic, Reconstructive and ENT Surgeons Carene’s expertise lays in developing dynamic Customer Service and Clinical teams. Carene became interested in the Sleep area of Medicine 6 years ago and now leads our team with passion and enthusiasm for ensuring excellent Patient Services and Clinical outcomes.
Dr Dev Banerjee is an experienced Sleep Physician, and Medical Director at Dr. Levi’s Sleep Clinic. He also has an academic role in sleep research at the works at the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research (WIMR). He graduated in Medicine from the University of Leeds, UK with extensive training in Sleep Medicine in the UK and Australia. His training in Respiratory Medicine and Sleep Medicine took place in the West Midlands UK followed by a 14 months Clinical and Research Fellow appointment at the Woolcock Institute and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Sydney 2003 and 2004. Between 2004 and 2013, he was a Senior Consultant Physician in Sleep Medicine at the Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, and Senior Research Fellow at Aston University between 2009 and 2013 and worked for University of Sydney and St. Vincent’s Hospital (Darlinghurst, Sydney). Other roles include providing sleep advice regularly on TV and Radio and Newspapers, and assisting Court as a medicolegal expert in the field of Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Mark Levi has over 30 years’ experience as a Dentist and over 20 years’ in sleep medicine. He is a member of the Australasian Sleep Association, American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and European Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.
As a former sufferer of Sleep Apnoea, Dr. Levi understands the problem from all perspectives and has the technical expertise to provide the best-customized solutions. Through the Sleep Clinic, Dr. Levi identifies the correct pathway to direct patients to the appropriate solution to fit their individual needs.
Dr. Levi treats sleep apnoea, snoring and other sleep disorders. Sleep problems can cause fatigue, tiredness, breathing problems and other health complications. When we sleep – different bodily functions slow down and this change in levels can cause problems for some people.
The clinic conducts a non-invasive, bulk billing take-home test that collects sleep data during one night of sleep. The data is sent via the machine to professionals and Dr. Levi then provides a thorough clinical assessment, clear recommendations and diagnosis. Treatment is through customised solutions depending on the patient’s habits, sleeping problems, and health implications.
Dr. Levi is working with the Sleep Health Foundation to promote the importance of getting plenty of shut-eye. Also lectures widely and is asleep health commentator on television and radio.
